In past years, Several of our crew members have been to Burning Man and are committed to the principles of LEAVE NO TRACE. These Crew members where also apart of the clean up crew in their previous camps.
Our new crew members are well versed in the LEAVE NO TRACE philosophy.
Below is the camp clean-up plan of action:

Camp Clean-Up:
Communicating the Plan: Our camp clean-up requirements will be reviewed and understood by all crew members of  The Bomb Bay Tea Company  prior to arriving at BRC and will be reviewed on-site as needed.       Signage will be posted in key camp communal areas to help remind campers what is required of them.

Upon Arrival
: Our scout team that will be first to arrive will place and mark all trash receptacles (50-gallon plastic trashcans).

Reduction
: The first step our camp will accomplish is the reduction of unnecessary trash (i.e. packaging, plastic cups, etc.). Each camp member is bringing one mess kit that they will wash and reuse throughout the week (this includes flatware & cups). All food packaging will be reduced before we reach BRC. We will not bring glass bottles.

Waste
: Each camp member will be responsible for their own personal waste.  Waste created in the tea room will be separated into three groups: recyclable, solid waste and burnable (items in this group will be few; we understand what can & should not be burned). The containers will be clearly marked, kept behind the structure and will be stored under the car trailers when full.

Materials
: The theme camp structure is a solid wood framed building, pre-fabricated off-site prior to arrival. Minimal construction on-site will be required, but all necessary construction materials (i.e. bolts, wood screws, etc.) will be stored and accounted for. We have assigned a single camp member for this task.

Water
: Grey water will be evaporated in a tray when possible and the remaining gray water will be stored in a container.  Ice water will be reused for showers and cleaning dishes.
Surface and Ground: We will only use rebar for staking down camp structures. The rebar will be clearly marked with brightly color paint so that we do not miss removing them. All rebar will be marked for safety also. Each day a team will be assigned to pick-up trash in & around our camp. This team will be on the lookout for small pieces of trash (i.e. false eyelashes, can tabs, etc.).

Smokers
: The few smokers we have in our camp will use small tins for butts (Altoids canisters altered just for Burning Man).
Lost and Found: We will have a designated bin that all items left out will be placed in. (This should help keep items from floating away in wind storms.)

Hauling
: We will have a car trailer dedicated to hauling camp trash to the local trash dump. This crew of three people will make as many trips as necessary to ensure our trash is dumped properly.  All members of our camp will haul trash with them when they leave to be disposed of properly.

Last to Leave Clean Up Crew: We will have a crew of three people that will leave last to double check the site for any trash and any other needs to ensure we leave no trace.
